Music Theory Level 2
Develop note reading skills in the treble clef, bass clef and grand staff with notes up to three ledger lines. Study and apply rhythm including whole, dotted half, half, quarter, dotted quarter and eighth notes and rests in 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 meters. Learn scales and chords in the required keys of C Major, G Major, F Major, A minor, E minor and D minor. Explore intervals including half steps and whole steps and melodic and harmonic intervals up to an octave (numerical size only). Gain knowledge of musical terms and signs. Compose short melody lines with a given rhythm using compositional techniques. Study real music examples containing all aspects of this level and the previous levels. Study the life and music of Mozart with emphasis on Ah vous dirai-je, Maman, K. 265 and Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat Major, K. 495.
