Service Description
Pre-requisite of Level 5 or successful completion of placement exam All concepts explained below in addition to those covered in all previous levels. Develop notation skills with double sharps and flats and transposition of melodies in major keys up by any interval within an octave. Understand and apply thirty-second notes and rests and dotted sixteenth notes and rests in compound meters. Study major, minor, perfect, augmented and diminished intervals within an octave including enharmonic equivalents. Explore all major and minor (natural, harmonic, and melodic), relative and parallel, and scale degree names. Study blocked and broken triads, root position and inversions, close or open position, and dominant seventh chords in root position only. Identify authentic and half cadences in keyboard style and implied harmony of a melody line using functional and lead sheet analysis. Gain knowledge of musical terms and signs. Compose 8 measure melody lines, given two measures, to complete an antecedent and consequent parallel period. Study real music examples containing all aspects of this level and the previous levels. Study the Baroque and Classical eras with emphasis on Invention in C Major, BWV 772, Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, BWV 1050 by J.S.Bach, and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart.
